Breast cancer is the most common cancer seen in women. On average, it takes 8-10 years for a breast cancer to grow large enough to be felt by hand. Breast cancer can be detected approximately 3-4 years before it becomes palpable with mammography. In breast cancers detected before they can be felt, the chances of treatment without removing the breast and survival rates are very high. After the age of forty, women should undergo regular mammography screenings for breast cancer even if they have no complaints.

At our center, digital mammographies are performed using the world’s lowest radiation dose tomosynthesis digital mammography system, which also has tomosynthesis capability, and these images are evaluated by specialists in breast radiology.

With the recently developed tomosynthesis digital mammography technology, breast tissue can be scanned in three dimensions. This method captures numerous images from different angles, and these images are processed by computer systems to produce 3D images of the breast tissue in one-millimeter slices, similar to computed tomography scans. Thus, cancers that could be missed due to overlapping tissues, especially in women with fibrocystic breast tissue, can now be detected more clearly.

Comparing new mammograms with previous ones is very important for cancer diagnosis. All mammography examinations performed at our center are stored indefinitely in our PACS system. Additionally, all breast radiology examinations are backed up in different locations to protect against any type of disaster.

Our center also performs breast MRI examinations, all types of breast biopsies, stereotactic localization, and biopsy procedures. Vacuum biopsies are also performed with a reclining table or under MRI guidance.
